Biografie Renee de Ruijter

Renee de Ruijter was born on June 24, 1995 in California, the United States of America and has lived in various places around the world. Her roots are in Curaçao. Although Almere, The Netherlands is the place she calls home.

Renee started playing guitar and singing at the age of 16. She founded two cover bands that both ended up performing on several occasions Almere. Renee then discovered that het passion is singing and enjoyed the experience of performing so much that she decided to dive into music. When she was 18 years old, she made it to the semi-finals of The Voice of Holland. Many gigs followed as she performed at business events, weddings and private parties throughout the Netherlands and even got to perform Paradiso and the Melkweg in Amsterdam.

After a while, she put aside her own career to share her knowledge of music while working as a music editor for Dutch talent shows. Several years went by before she realized that she’d been working on other people’s dreams her entire life and that she should do the same for herself. And so, the adventure begins…

Renee wants people to have fun at her gigs but she also wants them to feel touched by her voice. Making people laugh and cry is her specialty. She puts everything she has into her performances and aims for the audience to go home with the same magical ‘wow’ feeling that she experiences while singing.
