Biografie Solid Harmonie

Solid Harmonie (stylized as Solid HarmoniE, also known as SHE) is a British/American pop group. The group was successful, releasing five singles and a self-titled album. They had the most success in the Netherlands where their album went to #1 in the album charts and was certified gold. Also the single “I Want You to Want Me” peaked at #4 in the Dutch single charts. They sold over a million records worldwide.

History
1996–1997: Formation and Got 2 have ya
Solid Harmonie formed in 1996 by Lou Pearlman as a female opposite of his earlier created boy bands such as N Sync and Backstreet Boys. They were signed to Jive Records in the United States. Initially, the band was made up of the trio Rebecca Onslow (born 3 January 1975, Swansea in Wales), Melissa Graham (born 10 October 1975, Coventry in England), who was playing in a popular Irish band called Calvary in 1996, and Mariama Goodman (born 25 December 1977, Lambeth in London, England). They released their debut single “Got 2 have ya” in 1996, before Goodman left in 1997 to care for her ill mother.

1997–1998: Second lineup and Solid Harmonie
Goodman was immediately replaced by Elisa Cariera (born 16 June 1978, Orlando, Florida) in 1997. However Goodman rejoined the band later in the year and the group became a four-piece. The group was successful, releasing the four singles “I’ll be there for you”, “I want you to want me”, “I wanna love you” and “To love once again” preceded by their self-titled debut album release “Solid Harmonie”. The album includes all their hits except “Got 2 have ya”, which only appears on a special edition of the album and the Christmas song “Give love on christmas day”, which can be found exclusively on a Christmas sampler.

1998–1999: Third lineup and disbandment
After legal issues the group lost their recording contract and disbanded. Mariama Goodman then joined R&B girl group Honeyz. Graham pursued a solo career. After the departure of Goodman and Graham, Onslow and Cariera decided to stay with Solid Harmonie and went back to Orlando, Florida in 1999 where they had several successful tours. Soon Jenilca Giusti (born 21 August 1981, Daytona Beach, Florida) joined the band in 1999 after an audition held in Cariera’s hometown Orlando, Florida and soon started briefly recording for the second studio album. The new Solid Harmonie trio was on the cover of TeenFaces magazine on its October issue. Due their second album was never released as they could not come to an agreement with their record label, or find a new one once they were without a label. That’s a reason why Giusti has never been officially recognized as a former Solid Harmonie member. The band eventually disbanded in the late 1999 or early 2000 to empark solo careers.

1999–Present: Solo efforts and other projects
Goodman released three singles and one album with her girl group Honeyz in 1999. Graham released the three solo singles “Bulletproof”, “Welcome to my world” and “Hello world” in 2000 and 2001. She planned to release a solo debut album, which to date remains cancelled and unreleased. In January 2002, Onslow released her debut single “Wake up” which remains her only release to date. Cariera recorded her debut solo album, which remains unreleased. Snippets had been released on Cariera’s My Space website. Giusti is an actress, who also released the two albums “Jenilca” and “Con tus estrellas en vivo” in 2007.

2013– Solid HarmonIE reforms as a trio
Solid HarmonIE anounced to be working on a comeback. The line up will be the initial official one with Elisa Cariera, Beki Onslow and Melissa Graham. Solid HarmoniE will start recording and doing photoshoots in March 2013.
